How AI Became My Creative Sidekick
I’m Sensory Kazoo, and I make MTG-inspired music. But here’s the twist: I don’t do it alone. I have a secret partner… my AI.
Now, before you roll your eyes, let me be clear: I don’t see AI as a magic wand that replaces human creativity. The computer can’t feel the thrill of drawing a topdecked Mythic, can’t hear the subtle humor in a quirky Magic pun, and certainly can’t capture the messy, unpredictable magic of human imagination.
What AI does do is open doors I’d never have time to explore on my own. It helps me sketch ideas, experiment with chord progressions, draft lyrics, or even dream up melodies inspired by the cards I love. It’s like having an endlessly patient bandmate who never complains, never sleeps, and always has a suggestion.
The same goes for AI-generated art. I can use it to create visuals for album covers, social posts, or whimsical MTG scenes that I’d never have the time—or skill—to illustrate by hand. But here’s the thing: the soul, the nuance, the final choices—they’re still mine. AI is just a tool, a spark, a prompt. It doesn’t replace the messy, beautiful, human part of creation.
For me, working with AI has been about expansion, not replacement. It nudges me into corners of creativity I’d otherwise never explore, it accelerates the process, and it inspires me to take risks I might have avoided.
So if you’re an artist, musician, or creator worried that AI is coming for your job—relax a little. AI can’t dream, can’t improvise, can’t feel the joy of a friend laughing at your pun in a live stream. What it can do is help you dream bigger, faster, and with a little more fun along the way.
For Sensory Kazoo, AI isn’t a threat. It’s a partner, a muse, and occasionally, a collaborator I never have to buy coffee for.
